E-Trender Crystal is planning a pink theme party for her daughter Lilia's third birthday and sent us this question...
"How do I get details on how to make pink popcorn and other pink inspired treats? I see the pretzels dipped, do I just get a white chocolate and tint with a pink food coloring or mix in a few pink melting discs"?
Here is a bit of "think pink" inspiration Crystal!
This idea was crafted by E-Trender Barb Hickey
Pretty in Pink Popcorn!
- Pop two bags of popcorn and cool to room temperature
- Melt 12 oz. of white chocolate and add a few drops or red food coloring or pink melting discs until pink in color.
- Once chocolate is melted, remove from heat and add 3 Tbls of corn syrup and 3 Tbls of vegetable oil to the melted chocolate (this is optional based on the quality of chocolate you are using - the higher the quality the less oil/corn syrup you need).
- Place popped corn into a very large paper bag and pour the melted chocolate over the corn, shaking gently to cover the popped corn individually.
- Once you are finished shaking the bag to cover the corn, pour covered popcorn on a large piece of wax paper or on another smooth, clean surface and let popcorn completely dry.
- After popcorn is dry, store in an air tight container. It should last up to one week.
ET Tip: The pretzels used in this picture are mini pretzel rods dipped in pink chocolate (add red food coloring to white chocolate). Place on wax paper, add pink sprinkles and let cool before serving!
