Halloween is one week away! We wanted to share another DIY treat (or trick) with you. Here is the inspiration piece behind the idea...
"Rest in Pieces" - creepy creative & fun!
Start out by making brownies - scratch or box mix...
We like using Betty Crocker - love the syrup packet and the way the brownies rise. Bake the brownies in a ceramic loaf (purchased at Michaels). This box mix made six brownies. Fill the loaf pan about 1/2 way with the batter and bake.
We purchased these Halloween candy molds here and here.Melt chocolate and start making candy bones followed by the tombstones.
ET TIP: Use small squeeze bottles for candy molds that have narrow shapes - it's easier to fill with the chocolate.
Let the candy molds cool and crush about 15 Oreo cookies to make the dirt! The best way to crush the cookies is to place them in a plastic bag and smash with a rolling pin until all the cookies crumble.
Frost the brownies and sprinkle the crushed cookies on top of the frosting...
Add the chocolate bones (sinking them in the cookie dirt) and add the tombstone candy mold to complete this spooky brownie!
ET TIP: Display the brownies on a shadow box or serving tray. After placing the brownies on the tray sprinkle Reese's Pieces on top of the tray to add a pop of Halloween color.
The ET gals wish you a Haunting Halloween and hope you enjoyed a little "Rest in Pieces" inspiration!
