Hello E-Trenders - we hope you had a great weekend!
There are many more Saturdays & Sundays left to enjoy this summer season! We want to share this easy "re-purposed" entertaining idea with you. It's perfect for a picnic, patio or barbecue snack.
Building your own snack-scape is sweet and simple! A retro crate is the perfect vessel to hold soda, popcorn & peanuts! Check out this display using an old school Coca-Cola crate rescued at a local flea market.
We cleaned it up and placed flowers in the crate purchased at a local garden store. Keep in mind this is for a presentation and it's best to plant the flowers in a live garden after you are finished using the snack-scape. You can even give the flowers out as a takeaway favor for each guest.
ET Tip: Scatter the flowers toward the back of the crate to allow space for the soda and snacks. Glass Coke bottles are still available to purchase at the grocery store. You can also find vintage bottles at local flea markets or salvage stores. Chill the store purchased bottles and place them in the crate. Adding a few emply retro Coke bottles creates a bit of nostalgia to the overall theme.
Now it's time to add the peanuts and popcorn! You can also add other snacks such as retro candy, pretzels and chips.
The popcorn bags were purchased on Etsy at the Dime Store Buddy Shop here. It's best to place the popcorn bags in the crate first before filling with popcorn.
The individual compartments are the perfect fit for peanuts and popcorn bags!
ET Tip: You may want to leave some compartments empty for peanut shells.
Add these paper red striped retro staws purchased here for the finishing touch!
Love the flowers!
E-Trenders we hope this inspires you to create your own snack-scape - share your ideas with us and tell us what you think of this snack-scape! We enjoy reading your comments!
