EventTrender Founders Sue Keels and Angela Butorac were thrilled and honored to be featured in Sherwin Williams-Stir which is an online magazine.
Sherwin Williams selected three stylists to participate in a color challenge incorporating the use of tablescapes to set the scene for entertaining! We had the opportunity to also work with Bill Hamilton, owner of Bill Hamilton Designs and a very talented event designer!
Each of us were assigned a SW lifestyle color palate to work with and asked to create our very own tablescape, patioscape and foyerscape infusing the Sherwin Williams colors!
The design team recruited Sue's parents, Judy Keels (ET contributor) & John Keels (gardener extraordinaire) to utilize their home as the site location for the Sherwin Williams design challenge. The home's lush exterior was the perfect back-drop to style a captivating patioscape and the interior is warm and inviting another perfect scene for the foyer entrance and dining room scapes!
We loved John's garden and Bill Hamilton knocked it out of the park with his patioscape presentation! His assigned challenge was the Sherwin Williams Artistically Bright Color Collection.
Twig chairs with plaid cushions offered a rustic garden-chic feel. The moss covered table runner and floral centerpiece bursting with colors complimented the the table-wear and fabulous favors for each guest.
Bill Hamilton explains," the host for this soiree is an avid gardner who has been out all morning gardening and soon her friends will arrive for a sangria-sipping lunch to discuss their gardens and flower stories."
We asked Bill Hamilton to share another quote about the patioscape he created and the SW photo shoot experience...
"Color adds life to the world. Sherwin Williams Lifestyle Collections are the inspirations for a great life!"

E-Trenders Sue and Angela's Sherwin Williams challenge was to utilize the lifestyle color palate called Blissful Retreat which included the colors Dancing Green, Lucent Yellow, Peach Fuzz and Cooled Blue. We decided to create a sea inspired scape which brought back fond memories of our mermaid tablescape we created several years ago - check it out here and YES E-Trenders that is a LIVE mermaid on our tablescape!
A decorative silver frame was placed on the table and we added mounds of sea glass. We layered shells, netting and other "by the sea" elements. We love adventuresome dining and this coastal cuisine tablescape offers a playful and intimate gathering for all who attend. Guests are welcomed with martini glass shrimp cocktails, glimmering candles, splashes of coral and delicate orchids.
ET TIP: The centerpiece was positioned at the end of the table instead of the middle which offers a strong visual focal point when guests are seated, it also does not need to be removed when serving dinner. E-Trenders, give this a try at your next dinner party we guarantee it will stir up some conversation!
Last but not least...Enriched Earth!
We worked with Bill and styled a foyerscape inspired by a framed print Bill shared with us.
The SW color palate included, Fine Wine, Gingery, Leather Bound and Pennywise.
We added small luggage pieces, a tray filled with river rocks and casually placed vintage keys and postcards on top, inventing a romantic story of a well traveled "Out of Africa" couple who enjoy sharing their passion for the world and welcoming all who enter their lovely home.
The straw hat and airy floral display balanced out the masculine feel of the foyerscape.
