"I only hope that we don't lose sight of one thing - that it was all started by a mouse." ~ Walt Disney
Thanks to Gina for sharing the details of this red, white and black Mickey Mouse theme party she hosted for her son Angelo's 1st Birthday celebration!
Gina purchased Angelo's cute little Mickey tie shirt from the Jessie J Boutique on Etsy!
Check out his little Mickey Mouse ears? Gina had all the kids make Mickey ears for a fun craft project! She bought black felt from Michaels Craft Store and traced the pattern onto it. She cut some ears out before for the smaller kids. The kids then glued the felt ears to black headbands. Some of the kids decorated the ears with Mickey stickers.
Gina made the Happy Birthday banner using red and white polka dot scrapbook paper. She downloaded a free Mickey Mouse font from the Internet and printed out her Mickey ear letters then glued them to the scrapbook paper.
Mickey Mouse Cupcakes! Gina baked cupcakes and frosted them with vanilla frosting. She used one traditional size oreo cookie to make the head and used two miniature oreos for the ears. She found the adorable red and white polka dot cupcake holders at Michaels Craft Store.
Guests received chocolate covered Mickey oreo pops as favors!
Gina made these pops using one big double stuff Oreo for the head and one miniature sized Oreo (cut in half) for each ear. She scraped off the frosting on the miniature ones and used melted chocolate to secure the ears and a popsicle stick. Then she dipped them in chocolate, wrapped them and tied each with a red ribbon.
She also used them as centerpieces in a square vase. Gina covered a flower foam block with red and white polka dot scrapbook paper and stuck the Oreo pops in them.
And it looks like Angelo enjoyed the smash cake mommy made him too!
Gina baked a cake and frosted it with butter cream frosting then she used white fondant and covered the cake. She cut different size circles out of fondant to create the Mickey faces.
